Questions

Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask before they buy. If yours is not here, ask us.

Playing

What is Curbside Clues?

A scavenger hunt through your downtown, run off your phone. You get riddles, you work out what they point at, you photograph your proof, you score points. No guide to meet, no bus, no set start time.

How long does it take?

About two hours, and one to two miles on foot. Go fast if you are competitive, or stretch it across the afternoon.

When can we play?

Whenever you want. Your ticket is not tied to a date — show up when it suits you and start.

Do we have to download an app?

No. It opens straight in your phone's browser. Nothing to install, no account to make.

What do we need to bring?

A charged phone with signal, shoes you can walk a couple of miles in, and whatever the weather calls for.

Is it indoors or outdoors?

Outdoors, on public streets and sidewalks. A few stops sit outside businesses, but you are never made to go in or buy anything.

What if it rains?

Stop and pick it up whenever you like. Your hunt does not run out and nothing expires, so wait out the weather and carry on later — or another day entirely.

Teams and tickets

How many people can play?

As many as you want. Big groups usually split into teams and race each other.

Do we pay per person or per phone?

Per person. One ticket each.

Do kids need a ticket?

A ticket covers one person aged 13 or over. Children 12 and under play free and do not need one.

Do tickets expire?

No. Buy now, play whenever.

Can we change our date?

There is no date to change. You are not booking a time slot — start when you are ready.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

As accessible as the public streets are. The route stays on public sidewalks at street level, but surfaces vary and some older blocks are rough.

While you are out there

What if we get stuck?

Message a Clue Master. They will keep you moving, but they will not hand you the answer.

Does asking for help cost us?

A nudge is free. A real clue costs you points. Your call.

How do our photos get scored?

Instantly. Our AI reviews and scores what you send the moment you send it, so points land before you have reached the next corner.

Can we drink while we play?

Know the local law — most downtowns do not allow open containers on the street. Plenty of teams finish at a bar. Do not drive.

Where does it end?

Wherever the last clue puts you, which is usually somewhere worth staying.

What do we win?

Bragging rights.

Buying and refunds

What does it cost?

Sixteen dollars a person, currently half price at eight during our launch sale. We run sales often, so check what is on when you buy.

Are there other costs?

No.

What is your refund policy?

Walk the whole thing and feel it was not worth it — tell us and we put your money back. We cannot refund what is outside our control, like weather you did not like or people who did not show.

We bought through Groupon. Can you refund us?

Groupon took the payment, so Groupon has to return it. We do not have access to that transaction.

Can we buy this as a gift?

Yes.

Groups and events

Do you do corporate events?

Yes. Teams, a private leaderboard just for your group, and clues written around your company.

Can offices in different cities play at once?

Each office plays the hunt in its own city. You will not all be on the same streets, but you will all be out there.

Do we get the photos afterwards?

Yes. When everyone is finished we email you a link to your team's photo board, where you can look through everything your group shot and download whatever you want to keep.

Still wondering

Ask a person.

If your question is about a specific city, a group booking, or getting around a particular route, we would rather answer it properly than guess. The formal versions of what is above live in our terms and waiver, refund policy and privacy policy.
